Being Hugarian

When you leave your country you have to (re)define yourself. You have to make an inventory: what are the blessings and what are the curses you bring with your heritage.

No one can be exclusively proud but we also have to try to avoid the pitfall of seeing our origins too dark, too critical or even disdainfully.

It's especially valid for Hungarians who easily go into extremes between these options. I'd like to show an objective view about ourselves.

I'd like to make you proud of being part of this heritage and call your attention for not being too proud.

If your partner is not Hungarian, if you have children born in a different culture, if you haven't found peace in your national identity yet I recommend this talk.

I don't want to tell you who you are. I'd like to show you, your partner, your children, your friends some cornerstones to get to this definitions themselves.
